From overwatered ferns to forgotten succulents, houseplant care has long been a guessing game. But as wellness and sustainability become global priorities, UK-based LetPlant Technology Ltd is offering a smarter solution. Founded in June 2023, this Thames Valley startup is merging AI, IoT, and gamification to transform plant care and its scaling fast. A perfect candidate for the Verto awards with their focus on innovation and leading the charge on technology induced sustainability.
The LetPlant model: simple, smart, scalable
LetPlant makes revenue through multiple streams. Its core product, the SDESA smart pot, is powered by a patent-pending AI system that offers adaptive diagnostics. Beyond product sales, the company brings in revenue through AI-driven subscription plans and direct plant sales. Strategic B2B partnerships with smart home ecosystems like Google Home and Alexa, and plant retailers, also fuel its growth.
By monetising both hardware and data, LetPlant ensures recurring income and market agility, a real game changer.
How LetPlant fixes a familiar problem, differently
Plant neglect, overwatering, and poor air quality plague many homes and offices. Traditional plant care apps offer static reminders, but LetPlant reimagines the experience from the ground up. It creates an intelligent, integrated ecosystem where AI-powered diagnostics monitor plant health in real-time, and IoT-connected features automate watering, lighting, and environmental control. At the heart of this is the Green Badge System, a gamified platform that rewards users for sustainable plant care habits.
What truly sets LetPlant apart is its adaptability. The system learns from its environment, tailoring care routines as conditions change. This is more than convenience, it’s a defensible, scalable approach supported by patent-pending innovation and applicable across households and corporate environments alike. LetPlant doesn’t just help plants survive; it empowers people to help them thrive, creating a routine that’s as rewarding as it is responsible

The future is green at LetPlant

They also have various product enhancements in store, such as becoming integrated into Google Home, Alexa and other IoT devices as well as enhancing its AI and sensor capabilities.
